MOST AWSOME Nov 12, 2008 I actually purchased 2 of these kits. I bought one for a gift for Christmas for one of my sons and one for myself and my youngest son to see what it would be like. IT WAS AND IS A BLAST. It grows really beautiful crystals. To get really good ones you need to wait longer than it says in the instructions but its worth the wait. You can watch them grow and change and its really educational and fun. I am definitely going to buy more when this kit is gone as its lots of fun. The only downside is that you can not purchase the different packs of crystal growing stuff separately if there is a crystal that you enjoy growing more.
Crystal growing kit Apr 16, 2008 I have had a problem getting any good crystal growing kits shipped to Canada. This is an excellent kit for a beginner or someone just looking to get the chemicals for other experiments. And no problem with customs about the contents.

FUN but instructions were not very clear Mar 05, 2008 We bought this crystal kit to help us with a Science fair project for my 2nd grader and although it was a huge hit with the science fair it was not very good as far as instructions go. One of the crystals didn't even grow and my husband is pretty good with science. Also the containers were not big enough to hold the chemicals plus the growing crystals. The blue Geode was my daughters favorite.

Not quite what I was expecting... Jan 11, 2008 I bought this for my daughter as an Xmas gift. I have opened it once and done two of the experiments from it. First, my daughter is 6 so I must explain all of the science behind it, and because of the chemicals, I cannot allow her to play with it on her own.
Also, all of the experiments with the exception of one will take a few days or weeks to complete. My daughter got extremely bored extremely fast while we were mixing ingredients and talking about the crystals, however she gets excited to check on the growing crystals.
All in all, not a bad kit, but I think it was maybe a little overpriced for the entertainment value it doesn't really have.
