Sensor Sep 30, 2008 This sensor replaced an old one on my deck. Following the installation directions, it worked perfectly.

Works great. No base station required. Aug 07, 2008 I wanted something portable so I could check the temperature and humidity throughout my house. This does the trick. Also my cooling system has a humidity dial but it doesn't tell you what humidity it is adding to your house. I believe you want around 40-45%. If humidity is too low, you can suffer from dry noses, skin, and throats, as well as cracked fingertips, and you're more likely to catch a cold. Dryness can also damage wood and drywall, cause your wood floors to shrink. Humidity that is too high will stain ceilings and walls, and can cause paint and wallpaper to peel. It also can cause mold. Use rechargeable batteries this think eats batteries.
I had to recharge after
Beware of coverage across rooms Jul 26, 2008 I live in a modest appartment. I have one base station with a TX4U for outside temperature that works wonderfully yet can do more than one sensor. I wanted to monitor the babies' room temperature so the TX7U seemed like a nice match -- it would display on my base station and be readable in the room. It does that just fine... when both are in the same room.
Unfortunately the usable distance between the sensor and the base station is very short, drastically less than advertised: I get nothing if there's more than a few yards between both. At 20 feet across two wooden walls I get intermittent readings. If I close room doors or move up to 30 feet there's no more temperature reading on the base station. So read the advertised 300 feet distance for that it really says: outside, line-of-sight in perfect conditions.
Works great May 05, 2008 I bought this to use with my LaCrosse weather station and it works just fine. It's nice when I am outside that I can see what the temperature and humidity are by just looking at it.
La Crosse Technology TX7U Sensor Jan 28, 2008 Purchased with WC-8015TWC Base unit. I have placed this unit as a stand alone unit in a room in our house to monitor temperature and humidity. I can either read the temp and humidity directly at the unit or go to the room with the base station. It is working great for my purpose.
